In the past few months, we have been making huge improvements to our Anycast network. We have expanded our network from 20 Points of Presence (PoP) across the globe to over 80.
What does this mean for you? This means your domains that are on our Managed DNS service will be backed by a larger, faster and more reliable Anycast network. Anycast DNS allows for faster DNS lookups. If someone is performing a lookup from Manchester on your domain, the DNS lookup will attempt the closest node, which is Manchester. They will then be routed to your server. In the unlikely event that the Manchester DNS node is down, they will connect to the next closest location, London. Querying the closest server to your location helps speed up connections.
