No-IP hosted its second annual food drive for the Evelyn Mount Community Outreach to help feed those in need. The donations were made by employees and included canned goods as well as Thanksgiving specific items like turkeys, hams, potatoes and stuffing.
After helping feed more than 70 families last year, Marketing Manager Natalie Goguen decided to make the food drive an annual No-IP event.
“All of us at No-IP are very blessed to have good jobs and to be able to provide for our families.” Gougen said. “If we can give back, even in just a small way, we want to do that and our food drive is just one of those ways.”
This small donation is part of a bigger cause, started by Evelyn Mount and her husband Leon in 1979.
The organization located on Cannan Street accepts donations of food and gently used clothing all year long. During the holidays they take donations for Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners including turkeys, ham, chicken and the rest of the holiday fixings. Canned goods are also always needed and welcome.
“Evelyn Mount exemplifies what the holidays are all about, which is giving,” Goguen said. “We are honored to be able to help her continue to do that.”
Donations of food can be dropped off at Evelyn Mount’s house at 2350 Cannan Street in North Reno.
