No-IP Adopts Two Families for Christmas

Reno, Nev. — At No-IP we firmly believe in supporting and giving back to our local community. In the past, we have hosted events to donate thousands of pounds of food to local food drives and have provided toys for hundreds of kids in need during the Christmas season. This year is no different from the rest, but instead of sponsoring a toy drive like we have in the past, we took it one step further and adopted two families for Christmas. Through a local nonprofit agency, The Children’s Cabinet, we were able to adopt two families in desperate need of help. The families we adopted were both single mothers with two young children.

The Team at No-IP along with their family and friends joined together to help make the dreams of these families a reality. The families provided a “Wish List” that included basic necessities like clothing, warm jackets, toiletries, toys and even bigger items like dream gifts that included tablets and laptops. Everyone donated items, some people even donated multiple items. The gifts were carefully wrapped, labeled with families names and on Monday, Dec. 13, the packages were ready to be delivered to The Children’s Cabinet. I am so incredibly proud to say that our adopted families received every single item that they wished for.

We believe in giving back to our the local Reno-Sparks community. Christmas means many different things to people; for some, it’s a joyous time filled with family and friends, but for too many, it’s a time of year that is met with incredible hardship and sadness.

“The fact that we can help these two families have a bit of joy during such a difficult time is the true meaning of Christmas to us.” Stated Natalie Goguen, Marketing Manager. “I am so thankful to work for a company that believes so much in giving back to the local community,” said Goguen.

Since 1985, The Children’s Cabinet has been providing a wide range of crisis intervention services, including Safe Place, a service available 24 hours a day, seven days a week for youth experiencing violence, abuse or exploitation. Their programs also include runaway and homeless youth services, substance abuse and gang intervention programming, work experience training, and independent living for former foster care youth.
